What's 'The Mitchem Difference?'
The Truth About Honey
You might assume that all honey is the same. After all, it's just honey, right? The truth is, there's a big difference between the processed stuff you often find on store shelves and real, authentic honey. Many generic brands are a bland, heavily filtered product, sometimes even blended with cheap fillers like corn syrup. They're sweet, but they're not a true taste of nature.
Even among producers who claim to be "pure and natural," the quality can vary dramatically. Many large companies source their supply from a global network of beekeepers and blend the honey from different locations to create a uniform flavor. They may have to heat the product to get it there - no longer raw honey! This might make it consistent, but it erases the unique character that comes from a specific place. We even notice some farmers market folks blending, for example, Orange Blossom honey with Clover (we can tell by the taste), and still selling it with an Orange Blossom label.
Simply put: We don't. And that's the Mitchem Difference.
At Mitchem Bee Company, we believe in better honey. As a small, family-owned company, we're relentlessly picky about our products - our name is on them! We're dedicated to producing authentic raw honey from well-cared-for bees with a distinct taste in each varietal and a quality you can trust.
Taste the Mitchem Difference:
100% Single-Origin
We never blend our honey. Each varietal is pure, raw, and sourced from a specific nectar in a specific region, giving you a truly unique, local, and authentic flavor adventure.
Unfiltered and Untouched
Our honey is gently strained, not finely filtered. This preserves all the natural pollen, enzymes, and antioxidants that make our raw honey so rich in flavor and beneficial.
A Dedication to Happy Bees
As pollinators face the challenge of shrinking habitats, we are taking a stand. Our beekeepers use ethical and sustainable practices to create healthy hives and protect the local ecosystem, while also sharing our passion by educating people across the United States on how they can make a real difference.
From Our Hives to Your Home
We don't source our honey from overseas - all of our hives are in the United States. We're a Florida-based family-owned company, delivering our golden goodness directly from our hives to your table. The origin of each of our varietals is on every bottle, letting you embark on a piece of our bees' miraculous journeys. Whether pollinating blackberries in Georgia, hard at work in the orange groves of Southern Florida, or buzzing through North Carolina for Sourwood blossoms, you can taste the love and care each bee puts into each drop.
