A Legacy of Beekeeping Excellence

Our story began in 2023 when Jake Mitchem, a lifelong Floridian with a deep love for the outdoors, took the reins of Riverview Apiaries from his uncle and mentor, Scott Irving. Scott, with his 30 years of beekeeping experience, instilled in Jake the importance of ethical beekeeping and treating both bees and customers with true Southern hospitality. This dedication to quality and care is what you'll find in every jar of Mitchem Bee Company honey.

While we continue to establish the Mitchem Bee Company brand, our core values remain unchanged. You can still expect the same exceptional, raw honey you love from Riverview Apiaries, alongside exciting new bee-inspired products. We're also dedicated to expanding our bee habitat conservation efforts, ensuring a thriving future for these vital pollinators, as well as rescuing hives and educating homeowners on the perils of homogenous lawns and lawn spraying.

A Note From The Owner & Beekeeper

"Hi there, I'm Jake Mitchem, the owner of Mitchem Bee Company. From a young age, I've cherished the outdoors, appreciating nature's bounty through childhood fishing adventures and learning from my grandmother's love for gardening. As I grew older, I realized the deep connection between nature and the food we eat. After graduating from the University of Florida (go Gators!) with a degree in Food & Resource Economics focused on Agricultural Business, I knew I wanted to make a positive impact. Mitchem Bee Company allows me to combine my passion for nature with a commitment to providing pure, delicious honey for our customers."
